Scott Eacott

Dr Scott Eacott
Program Convenor, Early Childhood Studies, School of Education (Callaghan), The University of Newcastle

After completing his initial teaching degree, Dr Scott Eacott went on to complete a Master’s degree and PhD in Educational Leadership. Dr Eacott is interested in the leaders and leadership of educational institutions and his research continues to clarify, broaden and deepen his use of sociological and organisational analysis. Over the past few years, Dr Eacott has worked on an emerging research program investigating what it takes to strategically lead an educational institution. His understanding of this along with other relevant research suggests that too strategically lead requires a deep understanding of the cultural, social, political and historical developments of both the field of education and the individual organisation.
